Downloadable Audiobooks & eBooks

Downloadable Audiobooks and eBooks are available from NetLibrary and Overdrive.

You'll find digital versions of the latest best sellers, book club favorites and award winning authors. Use these materials on your home computer or portable media player.

Please note: NetLibrary and Overdrive offer mp3 audio files that will work with iPods. E-books will run on any platform.

Finding Audiobooks and eBooks in Netlibrary:

Loan Rules

  • 10 audiobooks may be checked out at one time.
  • Check out period is 3 weeks. Titles do not count towards the 25 item check out limit.
  • Items may be renewed one time.
  • Items may not be placed on hold.
  • Audiobooks can be checked out to more than one person at a time.
  • Audiobooks cannot be burned to CD.
  • Must have a library card number to
    sign up for an account. You must have an account to check out books.

OverDrive Help

Finding Audiobooks, eBooks, and Video in Overdrive:

Loan Rules

  • 10 audiobooks/ebooks may be checked out at one time.
  • Check out period is 2 weeks. Titles do not count towards 25 item check out or holds limit.
  • Items may not be renewed.
  • 25 Overdrive items may be placed on hold at a time.
  • Books cannot be checked out by more than one person at a time.
  • Many audiobooks can be burned to CD. They will stop working at the end of the check out period.
  • Must have a library card number each time you check out a book.

Search the library catalog for downloadable audiobooks

Search NetLibrary and Overdrive simultaneously for downloadable audiobooks and ebooks using the Classic Catalog.

  • On the Classic Catalog search screen, select the radio button next to title, author, or keyword.
  • Under the Collection/Library drop down menu, choose Downloadable Audiobook.
  • Type the title, author, or keyword in the search box and click Submit.

If a downloadable audiobook is available, you will see an icon for NetLibrary or Overdrive. Click the title of the item to download the book.

Example searches:

  • Subject search for "french" in the Downloadable Audiobooks collection will return audiobooks about learning French.
  • Author search for "Stephen King" in the Downloadable Audiobooks collection will return all audiobooks by Stephen King.

Note: Library staff will be glad to assist with using Netlibrary and Overdrive, setting up an account or downloading books. Unfortunately, the library cannot provide technical support for personal computers, software media players, or portable listening devices.
