Request/Hold Library items

Requesting a book (video tutorial)

Locate the item in the library catalog. Select 'Request' in the record. Enter your library card number, PIN, and select the library where you would like to pick it up. You will be notified by mail, phone, or e-mail when it is ready to be picked up. The item will be held on the shelf with your last name on a ticket wrapped around it.

Create an Author Alert

We can alert you when a new title is available from any of your favorite authors. Be sure you have set your account for Email notifications.

  1. Login to MY LIBRARY ACCOUNT with your Card and PIN.
  2. From table options, select SEARCH THE CATALOG.
  3. Perform an AUTHOR SERCH.
  4. Select SAVE AS A PREFERRED SEARCH.
  5. Select PATRON RECORD.
  6. Select PREFERRED SEARCHES.
  7. Check box under EMAIL NOTIFICATION.
  8. Select UPDATE LIST.

Set Your Account for Email Notifications

  1. Login to MY LIBRARY ACCOUNT with your Card and PIN.
  2. Select Modify Personal Information.
  3. Under "I would like to receive my notices from the library by:" select E-MAIL, then SUBMIT.

Glossary

In Transit

The item is not checked out. It is being transferred from one library to another to fill a request or be reshelved.

On Hold

The item has been put aside for one of our members. They can pick it up from the holdshelf at their library. To see if the item is on hold for you log in to My Library Account or contact the libray. You may request the item, so that it will be set aside for you after it is borrowed and returned.

No Holdings

We do not have any copies of this title available in our libraries. You may request the item from Interlibrary Loan or Suggest the item for purchase.
